Abstract:Based on resource -based view ,resource dependence theory ,entrepreneurship research ,dynamic capabilities , and other related theories ,we divided organizational resource acquisition into three stages and developed eight leader's in-fluence ways in each stage respectively .The framework we proposed provides a micro-foundation of resource-based view and contributes to understanding of leadership effectiveness .
2. Contorted leadership in Chinese hierarchically oriented context How social governance influences organizational leaders

Abstract:Purpose - The aim of this research is to explore the behavioral model of Chinese organizational leaders acquiring resources for the development of their organizations under the influence of hierarchically oriented social governance. Design/methodology/approach - The paper compares the differences between Western and Chinese contexts and conducts a grounded multi-case study to explore leadership behavioral model in the Chinese context. Findings - First, the Chinese social governance structure is hierarchically oriented, whereas the Western social governance structure is market oriented. Second, this unique inconformity found in the Chinese organizational leaders as contorted leadership, which refers to the inconsistency between leaders' cognition and their behavior when acquiring resources for the development of their organizations, is defined. Third, the conflict between leaders' cognition and behaviors is caused by the social governance mechanism within which leaders are embedded. Research limitations/implications - The authors have just made a first step to understand contorted leadership in the Chinese context, further researches should pay more attention to exploring the origins, functions and impacts of leaders' contorted behaviors. Originality/value - First, leadership is linked with social governance by emphasizing on the core role of social governance in allocating the resources which organizational leaders scramble for. Second, a new kind of leadership -contorted leadership - in the Chinese context that emphasizes on the contradiction between leaders' cognition and behavior, which deepens the understanding of leadership contextualization, is identified.

4. Network Cooperation Mode Driven by Self-Awareness of Roles and Two Types of Institutions:A Grounded Research on A University

Abstract:The persistent problem of administrative tendency in universities is regaining attentions in the context of innovative transformation and 'Double First-class' project.Based on the grounded research on A university,this paper finds that internal network cooperation is a process of multi-directional organizing based on connecting nodes directly,which is triggered by projects,tasks or problems raised by organizational members.Self-awareness of roles,assuring and cultivating institutions are the key drivers facilitating the network cooperation;self-awareness of roles renews these institutions,which in turn reinforce the self-awareness of roles.In addition,the institutions need to be maintained by a participatory governance structure,and the self-awareness of roles need another two drivers,namely mutual understanding and symbiotic development among members.At the end of the paper is a discussion and comparison between the ideal bureaucratic organization and internal network organization.
5. Teaching for the future: a transnational university practice

Abstract:Purpose The purpose of this paper is to explore an innovative teaching design to teach accounting management that aims to foster students' technical and soft skills. The effectiveness of this new teaching design addresses current concerns for universities preparing students for the future. Design/methodology/approach The paper deploys the qualitative research methodology and applies multiple methods to gather data in a case study. The researchers collected data through pre- and post-surveys of individual students, three half-day observations on the five project teams and a one-hour long semi-structured interview with a focus group. Findings Five themes emerged in the research to support the effectiveness of the new teaching design. The study also showed that students' abilities in self-directed learning (SDL) link to their learning experiences. When students were more capable of initiating learning, such ability enriched their practices of soft skills in the team setting. Originality/value This empirical research extends current knowledge of teaching soft skills and calls for action on the development of students' SDL abilities.
6. Intrusive Psychological Control and Children's Behaviors in Chinese Multigenerational Families: Role of Children's Temperamental Reactivity

Abstract:The coparenting between grandparents and parents is increasingly prevalent in Chinese society. Based on the family system theory and the differential susceptibility model, the current study examined (a) the relative associations of maternal and grandparental psychological control with children's behavioral problems; (b) the interactive effects of maternal and grandparental psychological control on children's behavioral problems; and (c) the moderation role of children's temperamental reactivity. The sample included 241 Chinese multigenerational families with preschool children (130 boys, M-age = 4.88 years, SD = 1.04). Mothers and grandparents reported their psychological control and children's behavioral problems. Mothers also rated children's temperamental reactivity. The results showed that only maternal psychological control was uniquely associated with more children's behavioral problems. There was no interaction between maternal and grandparental psychological control. However, children's temperamental reactivity moderated associations between grandparental psychological control and children's behavioral problems. Specifically, grandparental psychological control was positively linked to children's behavioral problems only for highly reactive children. This finding highlighted the susceptibility of children with high reactivity to grandparental psychological control, raising the possibility of targeted interventions to facilitate children's development.
7. "Context" in the Leadership Studies: Content, Method and Direction for Future Research

Abstract:Context has been paid more and more attention in leadership studies for its effects on leadership behavior and outcomes. A series of key questions have not been answered clearly. For instance, what is the "context" of leadership? Why do scholars must consider context in leadership research? How do scholars analyze context in existing leadership studies? What improvement should scholars do in future research? This article reviews the leadership literature with context consideration in last twenty years in order to clearly answer the above-mentioned questions. This paper firstly discusses different contexts and the necessity of context consideration in leadership research. We define "context of leadership" as the set of factors surrounding the leadership phenomenon or process that exerts some direct or indirect influence on it. Context contains internal (e. g. , interaction, organizational culture and climate) and external ( e. g. , location, sector, policy) situations. We also give a systematic elaboration for the necessity of context consideration in two aspects: ( 1 ) context is a key element in leadership research, and (2) leadership research should study in-depth the indigenous environment. We then discuss the content and examine methods of studying leadership context in-depth and systematically. The content of leadership context is very extensive in existing studies that include internal context, such as organizational structure, culture, climate, statue, life cycle, mode of governance, policy and goals, and external context, such as religious culture, national culture, social situation and institutional environment. However, there are two major limitations : ( 1 ) current research pay more attention to the effects of lower-level internal context on leadership phenomenon or process than higher-level external context, and (2) current research is granular and fragmented in which comprehensive consideration of different contexts or different levels of context and their effects on leadership phenomenon or process are not sufficient. We discuss the analytical method of leadership context in two ways: contextualizing theory and theorizing about context, and find that studies with these two methods contain rich information. This study has two major limitations. First, in contextualizing research leadership contexts are usually treated as variables and their moderating effects on the relationship between other variables in leadership phenomenon are tested. Thus, a great deal of proposed leadership theories are tested and modified ceaselessly, and such situation is likely to cause a slow development of leadership theory. Second, in context theorizing research leadership contexts are also usually treated as variables and their direct effects on other variables in leadership phenomenon are tested. Unfortunately, more complex context theorizing studies about the effect mechanism of multiple contextual factors on leadership phenomenon are still somewhat rare.

9. Equipment Procurement Quality Management on the Basis of HeXie Management Theory

Abstract:Quality management is critical to the effectiveness of equipment procurement process. Equipment procurement quality management (EPQM) refers to activities of controlling equipment buyers in processes, such as demand reasoning, competitive bidding, manufacturing, supervision, motivation, and assessment. Understanding equipment quality of producers and buyers, and their behaviors can help control the equipment quality. EPQM is a complex topic because equipment sourcing is susceptible to changes in political environment, market, technology innovation, laws and regulations, equipment producing alliance, and internal organizing mechanism of equipment buyers. The high degree of complexity makes it very difficult for equipment buyers to control equipment quality through extant quality management methods.

Abstract:运用建构主义扎根理论的方法,基于王石领导活动的质性数据,分析了本土领导者面临的不确定性管理挑战,以及领导者在应对不确定性挑战中发挥的作用,提出了一个本土领导者应对不确定性的作用模型。研究结果表明,在应对环境、组织和领导者个人3个方面不确定性挑战时,本土领导者分别发挥了不同作用,即寻找机遇、把握机遇,关注与响应政策变化、应对竞争环境变化;推动组织进化,调动资源危机处理;收放职位权力,形成领导权威,积累管理经验,开展组织外学习。研究结论对本土企业的管理实践具有一定的启示作用。

Abstract:  Based on institutional theory and resource-based view,we explain how leaders acquire resource for the enterprise.With three open questions—what is the institutional context; what is the key resource; how leaders acquire the resource—we built a framework of leaders’ resource acquisition connecting three levels: institutional,organizational,and individual.And then,we use the framework to analyze the unique characteristic of resource acquisition of Chinese indigenous leaders.By exploring the process of how leaders acquire resource,we make a contribution to the leadership research.In addition,the uniqueness of indigenous leaders’ resource acquisition illustrates the necessity of indigenous management research.

Abstract:  With regard to the temporary frequently happened social contradiction, this paper, grounding on the analysis of social governance mechanisms and their interaction, proposes that soft legal system, incomplete market and network mechanisms are main factors leading to current unstable social events.Based on analyzing the essence of harmony society, we explore how to construct stable society by combining the effects of hierarchy, market and network mechanisms, and reforming current political system to build positive environment for the interaction among these three mechanisms.The paper also discusses the task and strategy of constructing harmony society under the framework of HeXie Management Theory.
17. Co-evolution between institutional environments and organizational change The mediating effects of managers' uncertainty

Abstract:Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to interpret organizational change from a co-evolutionary perspective. It examines the co-evolution between institutional environments and organizational change with the mediating role of uncertainty as perceived by managers. Design/methodology/approach - The author employed an inductive case study to explore how institutional environments interact with organizational change in a novel context: a Chinese state-owned enterprise. Findings - The author developed a co-evolutionary model of organizational change that emphasizes the interaction between institutional-level factors and organizational-level change as bridged by top management perceptions of uncertainty. The model also illustrates the dynamics of organizational uncertainty and its effects on organizational change. Practical implications - The study implies that uncertainty may not be an inevitable negative influence on organizational development, and tell managers how to manages the dynamics of uncertainty through two principles. Originality/value - This study contributes to the organizational change literature by interpreting organizational change as the results of interaction between multi-level factors from institutional, organizational, and team levels. The author also expand the understanding of uncertainty from a dynamic perspective.

Abstract:  Resource is an important topic which received lots of attention in existing researches.The underlying assumption for understanding resource is market mechanism and the value of resource is decided by the difference between cost and benefit in most researches.However,lots of resources in reality do not follow the market rules make us aware of the limitation of market mechanism in understanding resource,such as project 985,project 211 and thousand talent program.Introducing social governance perspective,the research explores the influence of three social governance mechanisms—hierarchy,market,and network—on resource and proposes the different type and value of resource in different mechanisms.Besides deepen the contextualization of resource in theoretical studies,the research provides implications for understanding resources in practice.
